Facemasks optional at Indoor Facility

Following the protocol set forth by the Johnston Community School District, effective immediately, face coverings/masks will be optional at the indoor facility. This follows the updated guidance from the Iowa Department of Public Health that was recently released recommending that mask wearing be optional.

Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that individuals who have not been vaccinated continue to wear masks indoors. Following this recommendation, JGSA strongly encourages that players, coaches, and family members continue to wear masks at the indoor facility; however, it is no longer a requirement. It is each family’s decision on whether their daughter continues to wear a facemask while in the indoor facility, and it is at the discretion of each coach whether masks should continue to be worn by the entire team during team activities.

Furthermore, it is still essential that any individuals who are feeling ill or displaying any COVID-19 symptoms do not enter the indoor facility.
